With 120 ports from 31 countries, The Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports’ (MedCruise) 54th general assembly will take place in Kusadasi on May 7-10. Global Ports Holding, the world’s largest cruise port operator, will host the General Assembly at Ege Port, with attendance of top executives of cruise ship companies and agents.
Mr Emre Sayin, CEO of Global Ports Holding said, “Cruise tourism in Turkey has entered the upward trend again. By hosting the General Assembly of MedCruise, sector actors will have the opportunity to see Turkey’s rise by seeing and listening on firsthand.”
Sayin said 60 percent of the cruise arrivals in Turkey used Ege Port in Kusadasi in 2018.
“Mediterranean region is the world’s second largest cruise market with 20 percent share. In 2018, a total of 13 thousand 500 ships were transported from ports to 27 million passengers,” he told.
Sayin also emphasized that due to the ancient city of Ephesus, Kusadasi is a key destination not only for Turkey but also for the eastern Mediterranean cruise tourism.
